I Think, Therefore I’m Dangerous

Last night I was watching “Borm That Way.” For the most part I’m enjoying watching this reality show more than I expected. I watched last week’s episode and was struck by one situation.

One young woman named Megan, who  is still my favorite, had a conversation with her mom about her dream of having a baby. (Her other hope and dream is to become a film producer)

Megan’s mom strongly advised her to consider not having a child..As highly functioning as Megan appears, her mom seems conncerned about the responsibilities that may fall to her if Megan has difficulty fulfilling her role as a mother. Kris’ friend asked if that was far to Megan.

Mom Kris said some people would say it was Megan’s right to raise a baby. Kris said it’s her right not to have to raise a baby.

I’m very interested in responses to this. What do you think? I’ll review s book tomorrow that deals with some of these same issues. I hope you check it out too.

Just for the record, I don’t know how I would feel if I were Megan’s mom. It’s a sucky situation, no matter how it works out.
