Does It Matter Where Your Ideas Come From?

Sometimes it’s hard to be creative from scratch. Sometimes you need a prompt that gives you something to work with so that you can take it even further.

My main way of expressing creativity is through writing. I’m trying to get more into things like art journaling and found poetry (yes, we’ll talk about both those things really soon.) But your way of being creative might be much different than mine.

I stumbled on this guy in New Mobility magazine today– AJ Brockman. He’s an artist who is a quadriplegic. This article was fascinating. He is partner & gallery curator at The Brewhouse Gallery and head honcho at Single Handed Studio, which is his fine art studio.

Poem 6

I read the news today

A harmonica player
Danced on the bridge
Ate some fairy shrimp
So he could take the freeway home.

When he got home
He slept on his pillow
Until the soup his wife made was ready.

She spilled the first bowl
But the second bowl made him feel love for her.

About lana1967

I'm a Southern girl at heart who wants to build a community of people who believe they can change the world with words like "love" and "freedom" when they become more than words, but actions in our work and our daily lives.
