Make a Wish

I wish I could make chocolate cake
that had no calories or
anything bad for anyone who might eat it.
Moist, pure chocolate
without anything to take away from it.
I wish I could.
I know people who never met Elvis
Now enjoy what they call ETA’s.
Apparently these Elvis Tribute Artists
look and sound like Elvis in their
white, sparkly jumpsuits.
Me, I’d probably faint if I met the real Elvis.
I wish I could.
If I had a hammer
I’d use it to hammer out justice
I’d use it to hammer sense into people’s heads
I’d use it to hammer love and peace.
Harmony and understanding all over the world.
I wish I could.

About lana1967

I'm a Southern girl at heart who wants to build a community of people who believe they can change the world with words like "love" and "freedom" when they become more than words, but actions in our work and our daily lives.
