Joyful Rebellion Is for Me

joyful-rebellion

I decided that I will be a NaNo Rebel this year! I desperately want to participate, but I don’t want it to turn into some kind of chore. I’m just beginning to love this practice, so I am participating in a joyful rebellion! I want to learn to approach my writing rituals with a sense of joy. This will be a season of looking for joy in what I’m doing. I’m going to be exploring new rituals and routines that I hope will help me write more than I have been. I’m going to try to write the same bite-size chunks I have been writing–only more of them. So I might post here twice a day or do a sprint in another space besides posting here. I want to get more words on paper.

Some of my earlier posts from last year were a start at a memoir. I might see what kind of material I can tease out of those posts. I’m just trying to figure out how to stretch further than I do already.

Someone on the NaNo Rebels forum suggested a Book of Daily Meditations or even a Book of Daily Encouragement to (be creatively disabled). That title would for sure need a lot of work, but why couldn’t something like that happen? Would anyone be interested in something like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts. So please, if you have anything you’d like to share about NaNoWriMo, tell me. I’d love for us to be some kind of supportive community here, if you all are willing. Get writing, y’all! May the Muses be with you!

I'm a Southern girl at heart who wants to build a community of people who believe they can change the world with words like "love" and "freedom" when they become more than words, but actions in our work and our daily lives.
